We didn't find any eggs but we did find lots of tiny caterpillars that has woven silk homes in the nettles. We have brought some back to class so we can see them develop into butterflies.

Class 6 - Water resistance from last term

We tested our boat designs to see which one would hold the most passengers. We thought the greater the surface area, the more people it would hold but after carrying out our investigation,we discovered this wasn't the case.

Ways we were learning today

We have had such a good week. I wish parents could be in the classroom listening to children discuss and debate, challenge themselves and learn in unexpected ways.

Class 4 learn in different ways

Today we thought about the different ways we can learn.
We can learn on the floor and at tables.

We can learn under tables!

We can learn by talking.
We can learn by standing up.
We can learn by ourselves.

Good luck froglets

The froglets have now been released into their natural habitat, the school pond. It was great seeing them develop over the last few weeks. Look out for them next time you're near the pond.

Froglets

The tadpoles are becoming froglets. Their tails have shortened and they are starting to crawl out onto the rock. Not all have developed so quickly. Some haven't got their front legs yet and one has just started sprouting its tiny back legs.

Tadpole transformation

The tadpoles from class 1 have settled into their new surroundings at Mr Sherwin's house for the Easter holiday. All, except one, have grown back legs and their toes are quite clear now. One of them has developed front legs, which look like little arms. Keep an eye on the blog to see how they develop over the holiday. Will they have transformed into froglets before term starts?

Class 5 made the most of the sunshine on Tuesday afternoon and went outside to work on problem solving and team work activities. Great fun was had by all.

New life

Class 1 is bursting with life today and the children haven't even arrived yet! We have the tadpoles slowly turning into froglets, the ants busily digging tunnels and today we also have 8 chicks chirping away. The local pheasant is sure to come and say hello at some point too no doubt!
