RE week - making mala beads and prayer flags Y6

This week we were looking at the place of prayer flags and mala beads in Buddhist practice. We decided to make our own. The results will be blogged tomorrow. We tried to keep a mind of love and compassion whilst we were making them.

Tennis at Bideford College

Class 1 and class 6 had a lovely time playing tennis today at Bideford college.

Mandalas at Greencliff

Class 5 had a great time creating their own Buddhist Mandalas with pebbles and other items found on the beach.

Yoga and relaxation in class 4

As part of learning about Buddhism class 4 had a go at yoga and meditation. 

Day 3 at Yarde

A lovely day of forest school and fire building. I hope all the year 4's enjoyed Yarde as much as I did and enjoy getting a good night sleep! 

Stop motion animation

In computer club today we have been making some stop motion animations including special effects. We used Lego movie maker, an app that the children recommended, to create some stunt car movies. To make cars seems to fly through the air we used very high-tech methods such as cellotape and string. We also used clever camera angles to make it look as if no one was holding the cars.

Day 2 at Yarde

Today we woke up bright and early (all children were awake by 6am). We have had a room inspection which was won by the boys in the bunkhouse. A chocolate digestive was their prize!! After that we went to the Milky Way and have had lots of fun. Tonight there is pizza followed by brownies and ice-cream.
