Faith and the Arts in Class 6

This week in Class 6 has been a special week celebrating Faith and the Arts. We have been experiencing and responding to sacred music with dance, drama, composing music, creating illuminated bible verses, stained glass windows, singing sacred songs and writing letters to God. Mainly we have been experiencing quiet in which we can commune with God or our inner peace. The conversations we have had this week have been very deep and thought provoking.

St Helen's School Council 2014-15

Our new school council were voted in by their classmates. We had our first meeting last week to decide which charities we are going to support this year. As well as Edukid, Comic Relief and Children in Need, the council decided to support two local charities - North Devon Hospice and North Devon Animal Ambulance.

Last week we finished our information leaflets for visitors to Exmoor. We researched the animal and plants found in the different habitats of Exmoor including the moorland, woodland, rivers, farmland and coastal areas. Please come and read our leaflets on display in the library and classroom.

A germ's journey

Class 1 have been learning about the importance of washing our hands. We used glow gel and ultra violet light to see if we were washing our hands properly and to identify any spots we were missing!

Come and rap with me about capacity!

This week we have also been looking at capacity! We have been exploring different containers and we have also learnt a rap to help us remember everything!

Weight and mass

We have been learning about weight and mass this week. The children have been comparing objects and measuring with marbles!
