Class 6 The Tempest

Today we began to explore Shakespeare's The Tempest by building a ship which is caught in a storm caused by Prospero, the rightful Duke of Milan. His brother and friend are aboard the ship. As well as building   the ship and creating a storm, the children asked  such insightful questions:
Does Prospero know who is aboard the ship?
Why are Prospero and Miranda on the island?
Why does Prospero think he is the rightful Duke of Milan?
Why is Miranda upset about the storm?
Who is Caliban?
We used Shakespeare's words from the play to speak aloud during the storm scene.
